Ask your folder. A model on your own computer answers.

The Prisment desktop app answers questions about the folder you opened, and edits it, with a model you run yourself — we recommend Qwen2.5-Coder 14B in Ollama, and a 3B model runs on less memory with the limits below. Prisment finds the right files, fits them into the model’s window and shows what it read. Your documents never leave your computer.

    It searches the whole folder, follows the links between documents and quotes the passages that answer, naming every file it used.

  • A graph, not a guess

    When a note names the file that holds the answer, that file is found even if it shares no word with your question.

  • Edits you can undo

    It can edit, write, rename and delete documents. Every change is a diff, and every change is one press from undone.

  • Private by construction

    The model runs on your machine. Web pages are read only after you allow each one.

    Works across documents, keeps summary sections and says when the folder has no answer. Uses more memory; reviews take longer.

    Llama 3.2 3B

    Runs on an ordinary laptop and cites its lines. It can miss summary sections or guess when the folder has no answer.

    Prisment checks cited lines against the source, flags figures it cannot find and counts to-dos from the file.

What to keep in mind

These are observations from our test folders, not a promise for yours. Ask in the document’s language: word matching can miss a Spanish file when you ask in English. Check cited lines before relying on an answer; the article covers model habits and remaining failures.
